Spicy potato balls with sweet pepper

Do you know those spicy jalape?o balls that are bursting with cheese and fat? We have an even better idea for you! If you like to snack, try herbal potato balls instead, which are full of flavour, strengthening and without added fat that burdens your health.

Beautiful tunic to the balls is added by natural paprika, which gives both colour and taste. Spicy balls are perfect both as a main course with a fresh salad and as a healthy snack. It is also convenient to bring the balls along to work and school without worrying about them spoiling – the baked balls last a long time in an airtight container.

Quantity: 3-4 potato lovers
Preparation time: 60 minutes
Difficulty level: easy
You will need:  >

  • 1 kg potatoes
  • ? tsp chili powder
  • ? tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 2-4 tbsp paprika

How to make potato balls?

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and cover the baking tray with baking paper. Wash and peel the potatoes and steam until soft. This takes approximately 15-20 minutes. When the potatoes are soft, set them aside to cool for 10 minutes.

When the potatoes have cooled, place them in a large bowl with chili powder, garlic and onion powder and sea salt. Mash all the ingredients with a potato masher or a masher until you get a smooth mixture (don’t use a blender or hand blender – in this case the texture will change).?

When the mixture is ready, take a tablespoon of the potato-herb mixture, shape it into balls with your hands, roll them in paprika and place them on a baking tray covered with baking paper. Repeat the process until the mixture lasts. Bake the potato balls at 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

Serve and enjoy!
