Healthy oil- and vinegar-free mustard in two variations

Rx-free mustard

We bring you two variations of the oil-free and vinegar-free mustard recipe, both completely unique in taste and texture. One on potato and the other on meebase. These are originally Meditsiinimeedium recipes, but we decided to bring them to you in Estonian. If you’ve been missing mustard, these mustard recipes are definitely worth a try.

Quantity: 6-8 diners
Preparation time: 20 minutes (if using previously steamed potatoes).
For 20 minutes using a pre-cooked vegetable stock: Light
To prepare you will need:

Sinep with honey base:

  • 100 g of honey (⅓ cup)
  • 50 g lemon juice (¼ cup)
  • 2 teaspoons mustard powder
  • ½ clove garlic
  • ⅛ teaspoon of ground turmeric

How to make honey mustard?

Put all the ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Serve immediately with food or store in the fridge in an airtight container until needed.

Mustard with a potato base:

  • 90 g steamed potatoes
  • 1-2 tbsp water
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • ½ clove garlic
  • ⅛ teaspoon of ground turmeric
  • 2,5 tbsp honey
  • 2 teaspoons mustard powder

How to make potato mustard?

Put all the ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Serve immediately with food or store in the fridge in an airtight container until needed.
