How to prepare roasted cabbage?

First, wash the cabbage and cut it into six more or less equal sectors. Then heat the oven to 180 degrees. While the oven is heating up, heat 2 teaspoons of coconut oil in a pan. When the pan is hot, place the cabbage sectors in the pan. Roast the slices for 2-3 minutes on each side (or until the cabbage starts to brown).

If you have a smaller frying pan, roast the cabbage sections in two batches if you can’t fit them all in the pan at once.

When the sectors are browned, place them on a baking tray or baking dish. For this, any oven dish with higher sides will do, and the sectors will fit nicely.

Then prepare the sauce. To do this, heat the stock, coconut sauce, coconut sugar, lemon juice, ginger and chilli in a pan. Mix thoroughly for about 3 minutes and then pour the sauce onto the cabbage slices waiting in the oven.

Place the dish in the oven and bake the cabbage slices for 25-30 minutes, until the liquid has reduced to about ⅓ of the original amount. Don’t flip the cabbage sectors in the meantime! When the cabbage is ready, place it on a plate and sprinkle with chopped fresh chilli or freshly chopped chillies.

Serve the cabbage with anything you like.
