Oven dates

Everyone has probably come across radish in a salad, but baked radish is by no means as popular. Asjata! Because lightly cooked radishes taste amazing! Juicy, crunchy and somehow softer and sweeter in taste. It could become your favourite way to celebrate a radish.

If you don’t want to turn on the oven, you can also make them in a pan. In the summer they are especially good when made on the campfire. What a wonderful idyll!

Quantity: small baking dish
Time: approx 30 min
Severity: light

  • 500 g radishes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons liquid honey or maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoons mustard seeds
  • 2 large cloves of garlic
  • 2 slices of lemons
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh thyme if desired

Preparation:

Wash the radishes, cut the larger ones in half and put them in a baking dish with the sliced lemons. Lightly massage the radishes with oil, honey, mustard seeds, grated garlic and salt and pepper.
Bake the radishes in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 20-25 minutes (depending on the oven and the size of the radishes), until the radishes are still slightly crispy. If you wish, switch the oven to grill mode at the end. Serve with fresh thyme and enjoy.
