Honey with the power of 100+ Estonian plants is an organic honey harvested from the swamps and forests of Central Estonia. This means that within a 3km radius of the enclosures there are only marshes, forests and wild grasslands – no intensive farming or areas exposed to other chemicals. Additionally, the honey is harvested from areas with high natural biodiversity. This means that instead of the traditional 15-20 flowering plants, bees have 100+ different flowering plants in their diet. Laboratory tests have revealed that the power of up to 150 different flowering plants can be found in a single jar of honey.
Honey from 100+ Estonian plants. What are the benefits?
- The beehives are located in the midst of diverse nature. Near the hives, there are large bogs, forests, and organic meadows.
- The honey infused with the power of over 100 plants is pure and organic—it is not filtered. This means that a man has both pollen and other healing qualities left. Many honeys on the supermarket shelves, especially cheap foreign honeys, generally undergo a filtering process that removes the beneficial pollen from the honey, among other aspects, and drastically reduces the honey’s healing properties.
- Unprocessed honey, or raw honey: it has not been artificially treated or heated.
The amazing bees in our lives
- Bees contribute to up to 50% of our food supply. Bees contribute to up to 50% of our food supply. Without the pollination work of bees, our diet would not be nearly as varied or healing.
- Bees stabilize ecosystems by enhancing natural diversity, which helps reduce soil erosion and the loss of species.
- Honey is an unrivalled sweetener and a wonderful medicine in one.
To produce a single 500g jar of honey:
- it takes the work of 550 bees for 2-3 weeks.
- During this time, the bees visit over 2 million flowers.
- They fly a total distance of 88,514 km.
Raw honey crystallizes over time.
Unfiltered Nordic raw honey crystallizes. Honey crystallization usually takes 2-6 weeks, depending on temperature and composition. You can re-liquify your honey on top of a warm oven if it crystallises We also try to keep a small quantity of freshly thawed liquid honey (thawed at 38C) in stock at all times. Many nutritionists recommend that each person should consume at least 5 kg of honey per year. In Estonia, the annual honey consumption is about 1.15 kg per person, while in Europe it averages around 1.3 kg per person.
